Second Mile Kids
We want our kids to learn what it means to live in the second mile, and we are happy that we have the opportunity to teach them about Jesus and the truth found in the Bible. On Sunday mornings, we have rooms for infants and toddlers to play and spend time with other kids, preschoolers to start learning the story of God, and elementary schoolers to begin experiencing that story. We also plan some mornings when elementary schoolers meet with the adults in the main gathering so they have the chance to learn and worship along with their parents and community.
We believe God gives parents the job of nurturing and building a spiritual foundation for their children, so we ask parents who consider Second Mile their spiritual community to join in the teaching rotation for Second Mile Kids. People who aren’t parents but love kids are also welcome to join in the rotation. This means taking one Sunday about every six weeks and spending that morning watching over kids and helping them learn about Jesus. If you're interested in joining the rotation or you have other questions about Second Mile Kids, contact Cara DeSmidt (email below).
We also believe that it is important for families to worship together. Generally, our gathering is not geared toward children, but we welcome them at any time, and there will be weeks when we don't have kids programs so that parents and children may enjoy the Sunday morning gathering together.
